A group of Senators led by Chuck Grassley of Iowa, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Deb Fischer of Nebraska have sent a letter to Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack requesting funding relief for biofuels producers hurt by the pandemic. Growth Energy’s Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley says that relief would be both welcome and needed.

He says while biofuels producers need this financial aid, there are also some policy steps that must be taken to restore the RFS and boost the overall renewable fuels industry.

Bliley says building demand for biofuels both domestically and with export markets needs to take place going forward.

In their letter the Senators asked the Ag Secretary to use his authority to use CCC funding and other resources to help out biofuels producers.
