The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets is proposing a new rule to allow the sale of E15. Growth Energy’s Michael Frolich says New York represents a huge market for ethanol.
He says if New York goes ahead and allows the sale of E15, it will benefit farmers and consumers across the country.
Frolich hopes that once the sale of E15 goes ahead in New York, that will convince the EPA to up the volume levels under the Renewable Fuel Standard.
New York state consumes over 5.5 billion gallons of gasoline annually making it the fourth largest gasoline market in the country.
