Growth Energy has submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency a notice of intent to sue regarding the agency’s failure to issue Renewable Volume Obligations as required under the Renewable Fuel Standard. Growth Energy’s Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley says they’re disappointed and frustrated by the EPA’s failure to act.

He says the EPA has not issued the RVOs for 2022, but it hasn’t even issued them for 2021.

Bliley says one of the major negative impacts of not having the RVOs out is being felt by biofuel producers, farmers and consumers and that effect is uncertainty for the biofuels market.

Bliley says the uncertainty felt by not having the RVO’s issued is it freezes investment, freezes growth of renewable energy and freezes growth of low carbon biofuels. Those are all felt by farmers, biofuel producers and consumers.
