Growth Energy Disappointed USA Didn’t Include Biofuels In Paris Deal

The Obama administration failed to include biofuel benefits in America’s plan to combat climate change during the Paris climate talks and the recent agreement. Both Growth Energy and the Renewable Fuels Association were disappointed they weren’t included. Growth Energy Co Chair Tom Buis says it’s positive other countries that signed the Paris agreement included biofuels in their plan to mitigate and battle climate change.

He says the good news out of other countries using more biofuels is that they’re getting much of that from the United States.

The United States is seeking to hit a target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 28 percent from 2005 emission levels by 2025. Buis says that can’t be accomplished without biofuels and the RFS.

The Paris Climate agreement was recently signed by 171 countries.
