Growth Energy CEO Not Concerned About New House Ag Chairman

Texas Congressman Michael Conaway has been selected to chair the House Ag Committee during the 114th Congress, succeeding Rep. Frank Lucas of Oklahoma. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says even though Conaway is from a large oil state he doesn’t think it will have a major impact on renewable energy policy in Washington.

Buis says the ethanol industry is more concerned about the change in leadership in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. That’s because that group will oversee the writing of a new energy bill.

He says the gridlock in Congress has delayed work on a new energy bill, and it’s unclear what kind of progress will be made on that legislation under a new Congress.
