Growing Poultry Industry in Mexico Drives U.S. Soy Demand

The growing poultry industry in Mexico is a huge customer of U.S. soybeans and meal. Most of the operations are totally integrated like Crio and feed mill manager Juan Martinez Duante says through an interpreter they produce 14 million broilers annually and 4 million eggs daily at their plants, which makes them one of the largest operations in Mexico.

He says they produce all their own feed and use a ration with 20-percent full fat soybeans and 40-percent meal.

And he says they’ve always used 100-percent U.S. product, but have started to look at some South American options.
