South Dakota pole vaulter Emily Grove was named the Summit League women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. It’s the first time this season and second time in her career that she has earned the honor.

Grove recorded the second-best pole vault mark in Division I last weekend with a mark of 14 feet, 4 inches at the Iowa State Classic. The junior leads the Summit League in the event by 2¼ inches over teammate Bethany Firsick.

South Dakota will compete at the USD Open and the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.  Both meets start on Friday.
