The Nebraska Secretary of State has confirmed that a referendum succeeded in placing capital punishment on the ballot next November. An opposition group to uphold the legislature’s repeal of the death penalty is forming.
Dan Parsons will lead the marketing campaign for those seeking to uphold the legislature’s repeal of the death penalty. Parsons expects to persuade Nebraska voters the state doesn’t need capital punishment. . .

Parsons acknowledges money will be flowing into Nebraska from throughout the country to finance both sides of this campaign…..

Parsons says the campaign to uphold repeal of the death penalty has attracted plenty of conservative Republicans who view capital punishment as a wasteful, failed governmental program.
