Grassley Writes Letter to EPA Administrator Regarding Ethanol’s Future

November 16th is the deadline for the Environmental Protection Agency to act on the renewable fuels standard volume requirements.  u-S Senator Chuck Grassley says he has doubts as to if the EPA will increase the volume beyond the 15 billion gallons of ethanol blended fuel now required, or if they choose to reduce the total volume.  Because of the uncertainty of the future of ethanol and other renewable fuels, Grassley says he and other senate colleagues have written a letter to EPA Administrator, Michael Regan.  Grassley says the renewable fuels industry is important to Iowa and other Midwest states, and he will continue to fight for ethanol.  Grassley says several different times the EPA has given their assurance the volume of the Renewable Fuels Standard would be increased, only to realize the EPA would go back on their word,
