U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa says he has heard reports that Mexico is not following the trade agreement set forth in the US – Mexico – Canada free trade agreement.  Grassley says Mexico has been accused of not following the terms when dealing with their trade of fruits and vegetables.  He says the U-S Trade Representative’s Office has indicated they will investigate the matter.  Grassley says the USTR could utilize the 301 Rule as it relates to the trade agreement.  He says if Mexico is indeed violating the terms of the free trade agreement with its fruits and vegetables, it may mean negative consequences to the U-S consumer.  Grassley is concerned Mexico may retaliate against the United States on other trade components within the USMCA free trade agreement.
