Republican U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa is still ranting about the slow pace of Congressional legislative action.  Grassley says the U-S Senat workks only two and a half days.  He says the Senate should be working at least four and a half to five days in order to get things done.  During his weekly news conference, Grassley was asked if the farm bill will be completed by September, or if an extension would be needed?

Grassley is critical of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York for the lack of time devoted to legislative work.

The Senat Agriculture Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on Wednesday (today) focusing on the conservation provisions of the farm bill.
