Grassley Speaks On WOTUS

The Environmental Protection Agency is wrapping up on their roundtable discussions regarding the proposed rules of the Waters of the United States or WOTUS.  Many people fear the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers are not listening to the concerns of farmers with regards to WOTUS.  U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa spoke on the topic during his weekly news conference with agricultural media.  Grassley says his home state of Iowa would be severely affected in a negative way if WOTUS were to be implemented.  Grassley says there is a place for federal and state regulations.  But he says some people want the proposed regulations to help clean up our water resources.  Grassley says WOTUS may be shelved for a while since the U-S Supreme Court has yet to make a ruling on some of the court challenges involving WOTUS and the taking of land without due compensation.
