Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says he’s heard from several Iowans concerned about the rising cost of health insurance and the failure of Obamacare to meet their needs especially in rural areas. He says premiums are rising and health insurance choices are dwindling.

He says Senators want to write their own legislation and then conference it with the House rather than analyzing the House bill.

Grassley says the health insurance problem needs to be addressed for several reasons including that without a fix, the cost will override any benefits a tax reform measure would bring.

Some of the health insurance fixes conservative Republicans are considering include curbing health care tax credits and slowing the growth of Medicaid.
