U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa says he is not giving up with his fight on his cattle price transparency bill, and he will continue to fight for the Iowa cattle producer.  The bill was authored by Senator Grassley, and co-sponsored by Nebraska Republican Senator Mary Fischer and Montana Democrat Senator Jon Tester.  The bill has bi-partisan support from the members of the Senate Agriculture Committee as eleven democrats and ten republicans passed the bill through committee.  But that was in early June, and the bill rests on New York Senator and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s desk and has not yet been scheduled for a full senate vote.  Grassley says he is relying on Senator Tester to place pressure on Senator Schumer to schedule a vote.  Grassley says the four major cattle processors have bullied Iowa cattle producers and offering unfair competitive bids.  Grassley says he was told by an Iowa cattle producer about how the packers had the cattle producer up against the wall with few options available.
