U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa told agriculture media he is frustrated with the lack of action by the U-S Trade Representative’s Office against Mexican officials who have announced their intention to ban corn exports to our southern neighbor.  Mexico has said they will no longer accept U-S corn with biotechnology traits.  Mexico has been the best buyer of U-S corn, and estimates are that 95 percent of U-S corn contains biotechnology traits.  Grassley says Mexico’s decree is a violation of the terms of the USMCA agreement, and the U-S government should act.

Grassley says it is time for the U-S Trade Representative’s Office to take the next official step.
