During his weekly news conference, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa announced he will introduce legislation to help young beginning farmers.  He says a common complaint  that he hears is young beginning farmers can’t compete against the bidding of land submitted for the Conservation Reserve Program.  Grassley says the U-S government submits bids for good productive land to be entered into the CRP program.

Grassley goes on to say what his bill will do to assure fair competition when farmers enroll land into the CRP program.

Grassley says the issue is of top priority for him, and he wants to introduce it as part of the upcoming farm bill.
