U-S Senator Chuck Grassley says he was disappointed with the testimony offered by the CEO’s of the four major meat processing companies during Congressional hearings held last week.  Those hearings held in both the Senate Agriculture and the House Agriculture Committees were to determine if any collusion has taken place among the meat companies regarding cattle marketing.  Grassley says the CEO’s spoke about how their companies are offering jobs, and helping communities, but they didn’t address the real issue.

Grassley says the meat company executives failed to address the high cost of beef at the grocery store.  The U-S senator says he was pleased with the testimony submitted by cattle producers.

Grassley says the cattle raised in the upper Midwest of Iowa and Minnesota have a higher percentage of grading choice than anywhere else in the nation.  He says in the coming days, he will speak on the Senate floor about the cattle marketing issue.
