The U-S Supreme Court is now hearing testimony on the lawsuit brought by the National Pork Producers’ Council and the American Farm Bureau Federation against California’s Proposition 12 which calls for expanded spacing for animals for meat products to be eligible for sale in the state of California.  Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa says he is confident the high court will rule in agriculture’s favor.  Depending on the final ruling, Grassley was asked if Congress would need to step in with new laws to help protect agriculture.  Grassley offers his opinion as to why he believes agriculture will be victorious in the supreme court case.
