Grassley Comments On E-15 Announcement

Grassley Comments On E-15 Announcement

U-S Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa praised President Biden’s actions allowing E-15 ethanol to be used during the summer months.  The president approved the measure this week as a way to help lower gasoline prices. However, Grassley says more needs to be done to secure the future of E-15 blended ethanol.

Since the announcement approving E-15 ethanol for the summer months, opponents have voiced their opinion against the action claiming food is being sacrificed for fuel, resulting in higher food prices.

Grassley says too many people are misinformed about agriculture’s potential, and don’t fully understand sufficient supplies of both E-15 ethanol and food can be produced and co-exist.

Grassley is hoping the inclusion of E-15 blended ethanol will become a long term fix.  He says E-15 is good news for corn farmers, the environment, and people needing jobs in rural communities.
