Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is co-sponsoring Senator Debbie Stabenow’s voluntary country of origin labeling legislation. He says it provides Congress an opportunity to put in a WTO compliant measure and still meet consumer’s needs.

Grassley says Canada is trying to pressure U.S. lawmakers to totally repeal COOL.

Grassley admits it’ll be up to COOL opponent, Senator Pat Roberts to allow time for debate on the voluntary COOL measure. When that may happen is not known yet.
