The Yankton City Commission approved an application for a Community Development Block Grant from the state for equipment upgrades at  the Regional Technical Education Center.

RTEC General Manager Josh Svatos told the commission they got good use out of their last grant in 2012…

 

The dollars come from the federal government, and are passed down by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Svatos says they need to update the equipment they use to teach students the latest manufacturing processes…

 

Svatos says the money will be used to buy new equipment…

 

Svatos says students from southeast and south central South Dakota and northeast Nebraska are now using their classrooms and labs.
