Exports of Dried Distillers Grains from the U.S. to Vietnam have increased 44 percent over last year from January to April. U.S. Grains Council Chairman Alan Tiemann says once export customers realize the value of the product they generally are quick to purchase it.
Although Vietnam hasn’t imported U.S. corn since 2014, the recent surge in DDG’s will likely mean they’ll want U.S. corn in the future. Tiemann says that’s the next step in the process.
Tiemann says besides DDGs and corn, Grains Council is also working to get out more exports of U.S. ethanol to foreign markets.
Vietnam is the third largest export market for U.S. dried distillers grains right behind China and Mexico.
