Close to 40 countries were represented at this week’s Export Exchange in Seattle, Washington. The event co-sponsored by U.S. Grains Council and the Renewable Fuel Association brought in 180 international grain buyers for the three day event. Grains Council Chairman and Illinois farmer Ron Gray says it was a great opportunity to tell buyers about the record corn crop expected this year as well as assure them of the U.S. being able to consistently meet their needs.
Gray says one of the concerns expressed by America’s foreign customers is the ability of the U.S. infrastructure to deliver that product to their markets.
Gray says another promising market for U.S. producers is dried distillers grains and last year the U.S. exported a record 9.7 million metric tons of DDGs to 50 countries.
