Grain And Feed Leader Meets With Transportation Secretary

Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx was in South Dakota this week and met with Senator John Thune and a panel in Rapid City and Chamberlain. South Dakota Grain and Feed Association President Jerry Cope was part of that panel. He says Foxx and Thune talked about the importance of passing a transportation bill next year.
Cope says Thune and Foxx are also concerned about the need for good rail service to help farmers and ranchers and understand it’s a long term problem that needs addressing.
Cope says many of the rail issues have been compounded by record grain production in South Dakota both this year and last year.
