The top seed in the Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball tournament was one of two teams eliminated on day one in Mitchell.

Doane, the regular season champ, suffered a pair of losses but still has an automatic bid to the national tourney. Second seed Northwestern split a pair of games in the double elimination GPAC event Thursday.
