GPAC Tennis Champs Crowned

The Morningside women and Hastings men claimed team titles at the 2016 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Tennis Tournament in Fremont at the Fremont High School Courts.

On the women’s side top seed Morningside defeated second seed Nebraska Wesleyan 5-3, while in the men’s final top seed Hastings defeated three seed Doane 5-1.

The Morningside women claimed the regular season title with a perfect 8-0 record, while the Hastings men also won the championship with an undefeated record as they went 5-0 this spring.  The top six teams from the regular season standings qualified for the postseason tournament.

The number one and two seeds received first round byes in the tournament.

The champions of the postseason tournament will advance to the NAIA National Tennis Championship(s) in Mobile, Alabama, at the Mobile Tennis Center on May 17-21, 2016.
