The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its football Players of the Week.

Offense – Dillon Turner, Quarterback (Dakota Wesleyan University)
Dakota Wesleyan quarterback Dillon Turner is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Turner, a senior from Salem, Arkansas, passed for 437 yards and six touchdowns, guiding the Tigers to their first win of the season in a 60-14 victory over the University of Saint Mary. He was 24-of-31 through the air, while also carrying the ball five times for 24 yards and a score. The seventeenth-ranked Tigers will host the University of Jamestown in a non-conference affair on September 9. Kick off will be at 1pm.

Defense – Caden McDonald, Linebacker (Morningside College)
Morningside linebacker Caden McDonald is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. McDonald, a senior, from Logan, Iowa, returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown and was the Mustangs’ second leading tackler with five stops in the Mustangs’ 65-14 rout of No. 10 Tabor. Fourth-ranked Morningside will host Truman State University on September 9. Kick off will be at 1pm.

Special Teams – Alex Stogdill, Kicker/Punter (Hastings College)
Alex Stogdill of Hastings College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Sogdill, a junior, from Lincoln, Nebraska, connected on a career long 38-yard field goal while going a perfect 7-for-7 on extra points in the Broncos 52-35 win over Southwestern on Saturday. He also punted five times, averaging just under 40 yards per punt on with a long of 46 yards. Hastings will host Valley City State University on September 9. Kick off will be at 1pm.
