The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the schedule of events for the 2014 GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.  The 2014 GPAC Indoor Championships will be on the campus of Doane College in Crete, Nebraska.  The two day event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22.

The GPAC Championships will be held in the newly renovated Fuhrer Fieldhouse and the Fred Beile Competition Arena.  The Fuhrer Fieldhouse renovation includes a new 200 meter track and Mondo surface throughout for both track and field events.

“We are excited Doane College will be hosting our 2014 GPAC Indoor Championships,” said GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra.  “Fuhrer Fieldhouse has a long standing tradition and with these new improvements the facility is now state-of-the-art and ready to host our outstanding GPAC track and field athletes.”  “The GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will feature numerous NAIA qualifiers and promises to be an action packed two-days of action inside the Fred Beile Competition Arena,” added Westra.

The two-day event features the Pentathlon for the women and Heptathlon for the men, along with a full complement of indoor track and field events to determine the conference champions for 2014.  Day one competition begins at 1:00pm on Friday, February 21.  Day two competition begins with the culmination of the men’s combined events at 9:00am.  The GPAC Championship events begin at 2:00pm and will end with the running of the 4×400 at 8:10pm on Saturday night.

Heat sheets for the 2014 GPAC Championships will be announced during the week prior to the event.

Doane College is the defending women’s and men’s conference champions.
