It was a split for a pair of Great Plains Athletic Conference women’s basketball teams on day one of the NAIA national tourney in Sioux City.

Second-seeded Concordia fell to seventh seeded Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), 91-86, in the opening game of the tournament. Hastings, also a second-seed, used a strong second-half performance to come from behind seventh-seeded Union (Ky.) for a 79-64 win.

The Broncos (27-5), advanced to the second round and will take on third-seeded  Indiana Wesleyan (27-7)  at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14. Indiana Wesleyan moved on with a 79-50 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan.

Both Morningside and Northwestern are in action on Thursday with Red Raiders taking on Tabor (Kan.) at 1:45 p.m., while the Mustangs take on Point Park (Pa.) at 7:00 p.m.
