The top track and field performers for the past week were recognized by the Great Plains Athletic Conference Wednesday.

Field Events – Tascha Donnelly, Briar Cliff University

Briar Cliff’s Tascha Donnelly is this week’s field athlete-of-the-week.  Donnelly, a senior from Elk Point, South Dakota, won her second triple jump title of the year in as many tries at the Chelsey Henkenius Open. Her jump of 11.54m (37′ 10.5″) bettered her school record mark that she earned last week and was 1 meter farther than the next competitor. She is ranked #1 in the GPAC and NAIA at this time in the triple jump. She also ran in the open 400 and the third leg of the 4×400 that placed third.

Track Events – Rachel Bramhall, Doane College

Rachel Bramhall of Doane is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week.  Bramhall, a junior from Papillion, Nebraska, had three individual season-best marks on the day and anchored a season-best relay mark. In winning the 60m hurdles, she ran a time of 8.89 seconds, the third fastest time in the NAIA this season and fastest in the GPAC. Her 60m dash time of 8.02 seconds is the fourth fastest in the GPAC and her time of 25.99 in the 200m is the second fastest in the GPAC. She anchored the 4x400m relay team to victory as she was clocked at 58.35 in her leg as the Tigers ran the second fastest time in the NAIA this season (3:53.07). The 60m hurdles and 4x400m relay marks both met the NAIA “A” standard

Field Events – Zach Lurz, Concordia University

Concordia’s Zach Lurz is this week’s field athlete-of-the-week.  Lurz, a junior from Torrington, Wyomingan eight-time All-American and 2015 indoor shot put national champion, turned in an NAIA-leading and school record-breaking shot put mark of 59′ 6.25″ at last week’s Prairie Wolf Invitational. He also qualified for nationals in the weight throw with a toss of 59′ 9.5″ that places him third on the national list.
