The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its football Players of the Week.

 

Offense – Bryce Lidtka, Running Back (Dordt College)
Dordt running back Bryce Lidtka is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Lidtka, a junior from Grinnell, Iowa, rushed for over 200 yards for the third time the season as he racked up 240 yards on 35 carries. He had 150 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone as the Defenders overcame a pair of 12-point deficits to down Hastings 44-43. He currently leads the NAIA in rushing and touchdowns scored. Dordt, who is 4-4 overall on the season, travels to ninth-ranked Doane on Oct. 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm.

Defense – Trey Barnes, Defensive End (Concordia University)
Concordia defensive end Trey Barnes is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Barnes, a senior, from Seward, Nebraska, racked up seven tackles and two sacks while also earning accumulating four quarterback hurries in the Bulldogs’ 20-14 win over No. 22 Midland.  Concordia’s defense limited Midland to 23 first half yards and 234 for the game. Barnes ranks third among all NAIA players in tackles for loss (15.5) this season. He was named a second team All-American in 2015. The Bulldogs have this week off before traveling to Dordt on November 5.

Special Teams – Brendan Cremin, Kicker (Concordia University)
Concordia kicker Brendan Cremin is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Cremin, a junior, from Modesto, California, helped sew up a 20-14 win over No. 22 Midland by nailing second half field goals of 39 and 42 yards (career long). His lone miss was from 48 yards out. Cremin also booted two touchbacks on five kickoffs. In addition, Cremin recovered a Midland fumble on one of his kickoffs in the second quarter.
