The Great Plains Athletic Conference has released its weekly award winners for volleyball.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player – Logan Drueppel, Hastings College (Middle Blocker)
Hastings College middle blocker Logan Drueppel is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Drueppel, a sophomore from Schuyler, Nebraska, hit .584 on the week with 13 kills in an upset win over 8th ranked Midland. For the week she averaged 2.78 kills per set and had 16 block assists. Hastings enters the week at 14-8 and will host Concordia on Wednesday for “Pink Out Night” at Lynn Ferrell Arena.
Setter- Kayla Bartman, Dordt College
Dordt College setter Kayla Bartman is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Bartman, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, averaged 13.67 set assists per game last week as Dordt improeved to 12-8 on the season. She also added six digs and two ace serves. Dordt will host Morningside on Wednesday night in Sioux Center at De Witt Gymnasium.
Defensive – Jill Bax, Hastings and Breanne Thege, Mount Marty – Defensive Specialist/Libero
Hastings defensive specialist Jill Bax and Mount Marty libero and Mount Marty libero Breanne Thege are the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Players-of-the-Week. Bax, a freshman from Lincoln, Nebraska, averaged five digs a set with a pair of 25 dig matches on the week. Thege, a sophomore from Columbus, Nebraska, averaged 4.54 digs per set with 27 and 25 dig performances in two conference wins against Morningside and Briar Cliff.
