Honors for the 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Track and Field Season have been announced.
The top Track and Field Performances-of-the-Meet and the Coach-of-the-Year honors were voted on by the league coaches. GPAC Athlete-of-the-Year honors went to the highest individual point scorers in the meet.
The Outstanding Performances -of-the-Meet were voted on by the league coaches and are as follows:
Women’s Track Performance – Michelle Mumm, Morningside – 1500 Meters (4:36.47)

Women’s Field Performance – Aurora Arevalo, Morningside – Heptathlon (4703 pts)
(2nd in the NAIA Currently)
Men’s Track Performance – Robert Iron Shell, Briar Cliff – 400 Meters (48.20)
(4-time GPAC 400 Outdoor Champion)
Men’s Field Performance – Nathan Houser, Midland – Hammer Throw (195’8”)
(3rd in the NAIA Currently)
Shantinique Cunningham and Alex Wellington both from Hastings were named the Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Outstanding Athletes-of-the-Year. Cunningham scored 36.50 points, while Wellington scored 24 points for the Broncos
Ed Fye from Doane has been named the Jim McMahon/Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Women’s and Fred Beile/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach-of-the-Year. The Tigers won the women’s and men’s titles on Saturday.
