Football coaches at Morningside and Northwestern have earned national recognition from the American Football Coaches Association.

The AFCA recognizes five regional Coach of the Year winners in each of the Association’s five divisions: Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III and NAIA.

The NAIA regional awards include Steve Ryan of Morningside and Matt McCarty of Northwestern in a tie for the Region 4 award.
