Kyle Achterhoff has resigned as Northwestern College’s head football coach after seven years in that role.

Northwestern’s teams compiled a 56-19 record under Achterhoff’s leadership, qualifying for the NAIA playoffs in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and earning a share of the Great Plains Athletic Conference title in 2014. Prior to this season, 17 of his players earned All-American honors and 29 were named Scholar-Athletes or Academic All-Americans. His squads twice received NAIA Scholar Team designation.
