The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska will be holding their annual meeting convention in Broken Bow on October 29th. President Jim Dinklage says they’ll be holding a panel featuring those running for Governor.

He says the two major issues ICON is backing is the reintroduction of the Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling Bill at the federal level and the Consumption Tax that fell a few votes short last session to correct the rising cost of property taxes.

Dinklage says Consumption Tax Sponsor, Senator Steve Erdman will be at their convention to answer any questions about the legislation and efforts to reintroduce it. Dinklage also says for cattle producers to keep operating the Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling Bill must be passed.

The ICON meeting gets underway at 1 pm at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow on Friday October 29.
