Governor Pete Ricketts is touring businesses which have decided to locate in Nebraska or expanded…thanking them for their contribution to Nebraska being recognized by Site Selection magazine with the Governor’s Cup.

The cup goes to the state which has the most economic development projects per capita.

Ricketts hopes to follow the 2016 cup with another in 2017. . .

Nebraska had more than 100 projects last year.

State Economic Development Director Courtney Dentlinger says the magazine counts both businesses which locate to the state, and those which expand their operations in a state. She says several companies have re-invested in the state, giving Nebraska a vote of confidence. . .

Other factors, according to Dentlinger, include Nebraska’s centralized location, both to other states and to Mexico and Canada as well as its regulatory environment.
