Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has pitched his tax cut proposal to the legislature. He is now working to win votes.
Ricketts has proposed converting the state property tax relief fund into credits to reduce property taxes as well as lower the individual and corporate income tax rates.
Tax cuts would not be approved until state revenue improves.
Ricketts says those pushing for property tax relief should work with him rather than risk a ballot measure
Senator Steve Erdman of Bayard has proposed a billion-dollar property tax reduction package and says he will seek to put it on the ballot if the legislature doesn’t approve it.
