Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says he isn’t worried about dipping into the cash reserves to help close a nearly 200-Million-dollar budget gap.
Ricketts has recommended both across-the-board and targeted budget cuts to close the gap, but also recommends transferring 108-Million dollars from the rainy-day fund. . .
Ricketts says he’s reluctant to bring the cash reserves down to 274-Million, but says he has a plan to build them back up. . .
His proposal has been forwarded to the legislature’s Appropriations Committee for consideration.
