Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts gave a pointed response to legislators who proposed a shift in taxes to provide property tax relief.

Ricketts, in his address to the Unicameral on the last day of the session, again rejected a proposal floated during the session:  an increase in one tax, such as the sales tax, to lower the property tax burden. .

Ricketts says he doesn’t believe that many legislators supported the proposal. . .

Ricketts says he’s disappointed lawmakers failed to approve his proposed combination of property tax and corporate income tax relief.
