Governor Pete Ricketts has chosen the Police Chief of the Port of San Diego as the new head of the Nebraska State Patrol.
John Bolduc replaces former patrol Superintendent Brad Rice, fired by by the governor. He says he understands he comes in as an outsider. . .
The governor fired Rice and suspended other leaders of the patrol after an investigation by his office disclosed inappropriate conduct.
Bolduc doesn’t consider the problems disclosed by that investigation as insurmountable.
Bolduc says he plans to listen to the concerns of the 450 troopers and other employees at the patrol before deciding what changes might be appropriate.
