Last week, AGP and South Dakota state officials gathered for the official announcement of AGP’s intentions to build a soybean processing facility in Aberdeen. Governor Dennis Daugaard was on hand for the event and says this is a very significant investment for the Aberdeen area and the state’s economy.
He says the soybeans processed at the plant will come from a large radius around Aberdeen. The product will then be shipped to Pacific Northwest ports and on to Pacific Rim markets.
Daugaard says if the soy processing facility is successful in Aberdeen there will be spin-off economic development.
The AGP plant will employ 50 people and is scheduled for completion in 2019.
