Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton has vetoed a tax cut bill and a supplemental budget bill — lawmakers’ major work products of 2018 — blaming Republicans for a legislative session “badly mismanaged” and “beholden to monied special interests”
Dayton says Republicans didn’t meet his request for 138 million dollars emergency aid to struggling school districts — that the 225-million-dollar number they proposed was “80 percent… from existing sources.”
The governor indicated he’d like to decide by Friday on a bonding bill for state public works projects which the legislature passed just before adjourning at midnight on Sunday.
