Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is calling on lawmakers to approve nearly a million dollars in grant funding for a statewide Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Dayton says the $969,000 in grant funds would help Minnesota nonprofits operate call centers. Since 2010, the suicide rate statewide has increased 19-percent–and 745 Minnesotans took their own lives in 2016.
