Last week South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard signed a pair of measures that provide state assistance to partially fund a new precision agriculture facility at South Dakota State University. He’s says he’s pleased the state legislature came up with a package both farmers and the farm groups could support.
The total project cost is around $46 million with funding coming from the state, agriculture groups and other private donations. The Governor says the state’s share came from reallocating some funds and raising some agricultural user fees.
He says bonds will also be sold to help pay for the precision ag building.
