The Federal Aviation Administration has issued permits to use drones for photographing of properties and for crop monitoring. An Idaho company which received one of the permits will use its drone to measure fields, determine crop health and scout for pests. Nebraska Cattlemen Association’s Executive Director Pete McClymont says he’s not opposed to drones as long as privacy concerns are handled properly and professionally.
McClymont says much was learned from the past when EPA released personal and private producer information to activist groups.
The permit issued by FAA for drones requires a ground pilot and observer for whatever operation is being surveyed.
