As the 2019 Nebraska legislative session begins in earnest, Governor Pete Ricketts says one of his priorities this session will again attempt to reduce property taxes.
Ricketts says the only way to achieve sustainable tax relief will be to control spending.
Ricketts says the unicameral also needs to pass a budget that deals with the state’s $95-Million deficit.
Ricketts says budgeting for Medicaid expansion will mean institutions that get money from the state, including K-12 education and higher education, will have to share the dollars.
