Dairyfest 2019 kicked off last night in Brookings with the Got Milk Gala. Dairyfest Chair Darrel Rennich says the event is a way to highlight South Dakota’s growing dairy industry and link consumers with the dairy producers and families that produce the dairy products the eat daily.
Dairyfest Coordinator Larissa Neugebauer says the highlight of Dairyfest is the tour of the Crosswinds Dairy and the family carnival on Saturday at the Swiftel Center.
She hopes the many hands-on activities will help consumers better appreciate the dairy industry and the benefits of dairy products.
Rennich says the growth in the both dairy processing and production in the state is exciting and is a real shot in the arm for rural communities.
Dairyfest kicks off at 10am at the Swiftel Center in Brookings.
