Five Minnesota pitchers combined to strike out 10 batters and limit South Dakota State to four hits as the Golden Gophers won their fifth straight game with a 7-3 victory in non-conference baseball action Tuesday.
Minnesota improved to 19-10 overall, while SDSU fell to 10-21.
Golden Gopher starter Nick Lackney retired all 10 batters he faced, including three by strikeout. Ty McDevitt added 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, with Jordan Jess adding three strikeouts as part of 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
The Jackrabbits are scheduled to play Wednesday at Creighton. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
