Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa State were among the winners in college basketball on Sunday.
Jordan Murphy had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 14 Minnesota cruised past Western Carolina 92-64. Five Gophers scored in double figures, and coach Richard Pitino leaned heavily on his bench as Minnesota played the first of a four-game stretch this week.
Isaac Copeland had 19 of his 30 points in the first half and Nebraska opened up an early double-digit lead and defeated North Dakota 92-70. Nebraska (3-1) hit six of its first nine shots, taking a 15-5 lead on Copeland’s layup with 15:13 left in the first half.
Donovan Jackson scored 26 points and Iowa State blew most of a huge lead before holding off Boise State 75-64 in Sunday’s championship game at the relocated Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Nick Weiler-Babb had 10 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists to earn honors as the tournament’s most valuable player for the Cyclones (3-2).
